Turning the tide?

I started out using the 54321 plan this week, but found it needed additional simplification. After two days at a conference facility with entrapment level food offerings, I modified the eating part of the plan to the Three Strikes plan from the original Pounds Off Playoff. It's simpler, yet effective. I'll give a full explanation on my next long post. Ultimately, I ended up losing one pound this week, even after the stumble at the start.

Exercise was great this week. I set out to walk one night and threw in five short runs. On the bike, I tied my personal record of 46 minutes on the local hilly bike trail! Really went for it, and was totally wiped out that night.

Lastly, enjoy these pics of my recent ride across the new Tacoma Narrows Bridge. You have to be careful what you think about (skip to 1:15), but it was fun!

The bike lane - don't look down!

The unbelievable views of Puget Sound are worth it!

Oh! I want to do the bridge! Looks really fun. Not this year I guess...but next year for sure!

Great job on turning it around while at a conference. I know what those things are like. Food in your face all day, and then sitting around all day. A bad combo for sure.

I really miss biking. Actually, I miss a lot of stuff that requires 2 hands. :(

It is amazing how every experience these days revolves around food, conferences, shopping even in hardware stores, and any sort of gatherings.
Good you are managing. Keep at it.

Nice job on the one-pound loss! You are doing great with the exercise, my friend! I can't wait to read more about the modifications you made. Wow, I would totally tip my bike if I looked down at the water while riding across the bridge!

Way to go Alan! You realized that you needed to change to adapt to the circumstances and came out on top!

I'll bet if you would have felt any vibration at all on the bridge, you would have set a personal record that day!

Hey Allen! I was a member of your June Boom Challenge and I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU! If you remember, I made an appointment with a new doctor as a part of your challenge...yesterday was the appointment. It was one of the best experiences I have had going to a doctor. He was WONDERFUL! Thanks again for giving me that push I needed to make the appointment! I believe I spent more time yesterday talking to the doctor than I had spent the entire 7 years I was with my old physician. THANK YOU!
