Project America Run 26/81 Fitness Challenge

Mike's on his way from International Falls, MN to Galveston, TX. Before leaving, he taped this one-minute YouTube video encouraging people to exercise for 26 minutes daily for 81 days. As you'll recall, he'll be averaging 26 miles over that time, so yeah, he has a little credibility.

It's already done wonders for me. Yesterday, I was having a rotten day setting up my new internet service. The installer was here for two and a half hours (he was a nice guy named Allyn, of all things), but later I endured two more calls to tech support (one was a 20 minute wait followed by "it's not our problem"). No internet and no solution in sight. You can imagine my frustration level. So I went out for a 26 minute walk, came back in, and figured it out almost immediately.

Dr. F. said she's in. My wife and I, and numerous family members are in, too. It's not too late for anyone else to join in and go to Veteran's Day.

Check out the video. A great case for getting active!

How about that, a little exercise got your head clear so you could find a solution, NSV to me!

A "minutes" challenge on workouts may be a good idea for my college-aged daughter. I'll share it with her. She was a victim of the dreaded freshman-15, which has now turned into sophomoric sulking. Please don't tell her I told you so. She'd kill me.

I'm in. I did it on Saturday, and double that yesterday, so I'm not too far behind. Good idea, Alan.

I think what he's doing is amazing. I'm in as I said and I'll link to this post ASAP. Love seeing you post more and I intend to follow suit. Also--- No more T.O.?? Didn't last long. That's no fun. Ha ha!

Congrats on the new shoes. You did it right. Get a fitting by someone who knows how. In my case that meant someone at the small independent running store, not the no-nothing clerk at the mall athletic store.
LOL about the X-Country team. Son #1 was a HS state champion. He's 35 now, but we just bought him a new suit for his birthday. Neck-15, Jacket 41 L, Waist-30.
