A few updates as the weekend draws to a close...
About a month ago I began a consistent regimen of push ups and WOW, they are working. In December I tried to start, but normal push ups weren't in the cards and I had trouble adapting to a good starting technique. Then I found a great resource on push ups and started doing stair push ups. These are regular push ups, but your hands are elevated, reducing the amount of resistance on your arms. Plus, they feel more manly than the kind where you balance on your knees rather than your feet. I've been doing four sets of 20 push ups, taking on a lower stair after I've become comfortable. The best part is that after a few weeks I could honestly see a difference in my arms. More on this in a later post.
Thanks for the support on my last post. I meant it as a positive that I was abandoning a plan that didn't work and going back to calorie counting. After the first week counting calories, I've lost what I gained on intermittent fasting, and another pound. Back on track and optimistic.
The new blog, Brass Salt Shakers, is off to a good start. I'm posting Mondays and Thursdays, spotlighting restaurant menu items with insane amounts of sodium, and unfortunately there's no shortage of material. Please take a look and if you like it please follow with Google or Facebook or even add it to your blogroll.
Had a nice visit with my MIL this weekend. Back to work in the morning. Have a great week everybody.

Congratulations! That's AWESOME And I love the idea of stair pushups! :-)
I've wanted to do push-ups but have a minor rotator cuff problem. I tried them on the stairs and was surprised to find that I could do a few. Now I'm doing a few reps every couple days and getting stronger. Thank you. Never thought of that.
