I can't believe it's been a month since I last posted. I'll bet you were wondering if I was on some kind of binge. :-)
I've lost four pounds in the past 70 days, since I began a daily journal. I had a 10 day period in early September when I drifted, but never went totally off the rails. I've also definitely been gaining muscle from push-ups, plus I'm getting back to a stationary bike routine with sprints ala HIIT. This isn't enough. I should have more urgency. But I'm not off track.
My eating plan is still a variation of the "three strikes" approach I've been taking (basically three meals and three other things). Actually, I've made a game of it, where I "score" every meal that is limited to one plate, with no more than half a plate "calorie dense". And I give up points when I snack. Exercise adds one point to my score as well, so I can get four points total. If I don't exercise, I can get three points and have to limit myself to two snack portions.
To lose faster, I'm going to have to tune this a bit. I need to either be stricter on the "calorie dense" foods, reduce snacks, or not get an extra point for exercise, or a combination.
I'm getting to be a huge fan of stair push-ups and the Tabata approach to exercise. I've been doing five minutes on the bike (warm-up), five minutes of brisk push-ups, five minutes of sprints on the bike, and five minutes warm-down on the bike. It's promising.
Hope you are well. I'm journalling daily, but need to connect better with anybody out there who is still reading this. All the best!
